New Jawa 42 Launched At Rs 1.84 Lakh; Includes An All-black Theme And Alloy Rims

The 2021 Jawa 42 was launched, priced at Rs 1.84 lakh (old showroom, Delhi). Yes, Jawa Motorcycles already had a ‘Forty-Two’ motorcycle in their portfolio. Still, this new ’42’ version will be sold alongside that and features a few cosmetic changes along with a handful of mechanical upgrades, which will also make their way to the standard Forty Two and Jawa bikes in the coming time. Let’s take a look at what sets the Jawa 42 apart from the Forty-Two we’ve known for a few years.

2021 Jawa 42 gets an all-black theme, alloy rims

In terms of looks, the Jawa 42 retains the basic design we all know, but the suspension, engine crankcase, dual exhausts, and cycle parts now sport an all-black theme. The other significant change from the Forty-Two (which features wire-spoked wheels) is black 13-spoke alloy rims, shod with tubeless tires. The new wheels will be available as an accessory for existing owners of Jawa and Forty-Two.

There are three new color combinations – Orion Red, Sirius White, and AllStar Black – and the fuel tank sports a wide racing stripe. The handlebar end mirrors are series, and Jawa offers an optional mosquito net, headlight grille, and rear luggage bar.

2021 Jawa 42 is slightly more powerful

With the 42, Jawa eliminated the catalytic converter placed under the motorcycle, replacing it with two smaller catalytic converters near the engine’s exhausts. At 171kg, the Jawa 42 is slightly lighter, and a few changes to the 293cc single-cylinder engine make it slightly more powerful. It develops 27.3 hp – or about 1hp on the Forty-Two – and 27 Nm of torque.

Additionally, Jawa says he stiffened the 42’s chassis in places, readjusted the front suspension, widened the seat plate, added more cushioning, and redesigned the side stand to improve cornering clearance.

All mechanical and comfort upgrades will also be rolled out on the standard Jawa and Forty Two bikes.
