How To Use The Mouse In The 80s: You know that the computer was not always the way we know it today. But did you know that the mouse did not exist for many years? Many people had to learn to use this “new” piece in the mid-1980s when the Macintosh 128K was launched, and this more modern version of the computer (which also included a graphical user interface, nicknamed the GUI) won the mass market.

People still did not have motor coordination properly shaped to perform the necessary mouse movements, and, therefore, the company started to launch tutorials. One of the most famous, from the year 1984, was called Macintosh Guided Tour and came on the diskette, with a cassette tape and synchronized audio.

As you can see in the gallery below, the intention was to teach users the basic mouse functions. Through a kind of game, people learned to point, click and drag graphic objects across the computer screen with their very modern mice. Look:
